Traveling Seamstress- No project too big, too small, or too weird!

Hi! I’m Elizabeth and I am here to help you with your clothing repairs and your custom project designs.  I’ve been a lifelong sewist who first learned how to sew from my grandmother and great-grandmother and learned garment construction, making homecoming and prom dresses, from a family friend. In 2006 I received a BFA in Fibers and Mixed Media from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

Traveling Seamstress began in 2013 during my first summer on Block Island where in between jobs, I traveled from home to home on the tiny island, helping clients with their clothing alteration and repair needs.  The brick-and-mortar shop opened in 2017 expanding services to include handmade and hand-dyed goods making the location a one-stop for clothing alterations, custom projects for home or boat, handmade and upcycled goods.
